Rinjani Eco Trek 5 Days - 4 Nights: A Traditional Sasak Experience |

This unique package is specially designed and created by combining nature and culture attraction. You will be experiencing an exploration of the natural rain forest and its magnificent phenomena in accordance with the tradition and culture of the native Lombok!
Program :
Day 1
Airport /Senggigi - Senaru
You will be picked up from the airport /Senggigi and transferred to Senaru village, north of Lombok. It takes approximately 2 hours drive. Your guide will provide general information describing the route details, the local traditions and the things you might see along the way to Senaru. The guide will also inform about the concept of developing an eco-tourism.
Upon arrival in the traditional village of Senaru you will be traditionally greeted by villagers. You will stay for overnight and sleep in the Beruga (traditional social function hall). In the evening you are invited for a ritual called Ntaoq Lekoq Buaq led by Melokaq (spiritual leader) and give you a blessing that you will enter a holy area and should be purified from any unholy intention, also to pray for health and safety during the trip to the mountain. Local food will be served for dinner in the village.
Day 2
Senaru – Pelawangan Senaru
After having light breakfast, you will get blessing from Melokaq then ready to proceed to Rinjani Trek Centre (RTC) for Registration. The RTC staff will explain the route in details, what you might see, rubbish management and safety procedures. The first hours of the trek, climb through thick tropical forest which is rich in flora and fauna such as orchids, the long-tailed grey macaque monkeys and, if lucky, the rare black ebony leaf monkey, known locally as lutung. Rest stops are taken along the way, and at Pos 2 Montong Satas shelter (1,500m), where your guide will tell you village stories and local legends and myths such as the Bunut Ngengkang banyan tree that looks like someone standing with their legs apart and the Batu Penyesalan stone. You will reach Post 3 Mondokon Lokaq (2,000m) through the forest after about five hours climb from Senaru for the first ritual act and lunch break. Afterward continue the ascent for another couple of hours through grassy meadows to Plawangan Senaru, the crater rim at 2,641m. From the crater rim are sweeping views across to Bali and Mt Agung, and down to the Segara Anak Lake (2,000m) within the Rinjani Crater and Mt. Baru (2,351m) is an island in the lake with an active volcano, last erupted dramatically in 1994. Enjoy your dinner followed by the night sounds.

Day 3
Pelawangan Senaru – Pelawangan Sembalun
After breakfast, Melokaq will do pray in the Senaru Crater Rim then trek down to Segara Anak Lake. Enjoy the time during the day for relaxing, swimming in the lake and explore the caves and the beautiful view of the lake and hot spring. You will have your lunch served by the lake and in the afternoon leave the lake and climb for three hours steep ascent to Plawangan Sembalun crater rim (2,639 m). Look out for edelweiss along the path. Observe the view of the lake from the other side and the island of Sumbawa across the tropical ocean. You will stay overnight in the camp site at Plawangan Sembalun crater rim and enjoy your dinner and followed by the night sounds.
Day 4
Pelawangan Sembalun – Summit – Sembalun Lawang
A 3 am start is necessary for the hard three hours Climb to the summit (3,726m). Once there, enjoy proud feelings of satisfaction and the amazing views (depends on the weather condition) of sunrise, Mt.Agung and Sumbawa, and the Segara Anak Lake (2,000m) within the Rinjani crater. Mt. Baru (2,351m) “an island in the lake” and an active volcano. At about 6.30 a.m. return to Pelawangan Sembalun which take approximately 1 ½ hours for a well-deserved breakfast at 8.30.
By approximately 9.00 am, start to descend from the Sembalun crater rim is amidst the pine-like Casuarina species locally known as Cemara, and perhaps encountering wild animals. After three hours walk through Pada Balong (1,800m) savana used as cattle grazing land by local people and you will have your lunch at Tengengean (1,500m). After lunch proceed to Sembalun Lawang village for another three hours gentle descent through open country, and the trek ends at the Rinjani Information Centre at Sembalun Lawang by afternoon. Dinner and Overnight at Local guest House.
Day 5
Sembalun Lawang – Village Walk – Senggigi / Airport
Breakfast at local guest House, start for a village walk by visiting agricultural sites, replica of the traditional village called Desa Beleq and weaving home industry. Lunch is served at local guest house. After lunch you will be transferred to Senggigi /Airport.
