The Rinjani Trek from Sembalun Lawang and Senaru is allowed to the crater rim only. The trek down to the lake and to the summit of Gunung Rinjani is closed due to the eruption of the volcano Gunung Baru. These parts of the trek will remain closed until the Department of Vulcanology recommends that the whole trek is again safe for visitors.
